Ink Love: Free Bird


How pretty and unexpected is this tattoo?  I love it's subtlety and how it looks as if maybe it's just always been there.  I truly feel that tattoos should look and feel like a part of you, not something just resting on your skin.  They should fit the curves of your body and accentuate them.  What do you guys think?

  2. These do look lovely...and I agree they should be natural and fitting. Unlike the sorority tattoo I felt compelled to get freshman year.

  3. Oh I totally agree. I went with a friend once to get his back done- and that was when I realized the genius of tattoo artists. It was amazing to watch him work with the way the skin falls over the muscle (creepy sounding- but really interesting!). Have you decided what you're getting yet?

  5. I think I may have decided. For some reason I always connect more with words than images and there is this Kerouac quote from On The Road that I've been thinking about all summer. It's "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn" I just kept thinking, mad to live, that's how this summer has felt. That everything is burning up so fast and so bright that I don't want to miss a minute, we're all so literally mad to live. I think I want to get that in script on my ribs. Thoughts????
