Easy Updo

I don't know about you, but I love holiday parties. I love finger foods, family and friends and festive dresses. But I always struggle with how to do my hair. I want it to look fancier than usual, but it can't take hours(dates flee at the thought of 3 hours worth of getting ready). I also like my hair, which is on the fine side and tends to fall victim to the dreaded static, to be off of my face and depending on the dress off my neck.
Both of these styles look both chic and(I know I've tried) are pretty easy to achieve. All you need for the first is some second day hair and baby poweder, a big culring iron and some bobby pins. The second is a just a charmingly mess chignon. Either would look just delightful with a cute as a button party dress(maybe like this one).

Snip Its: Fall Hair

Jealous does not begin to describe the way I feel about this girls hair. I love it, entirely. From the reddish color, to the perfect bangs to the amazing hat which seems to pull it all together. I'm dying my hair pretty soon since it's starting to look pretty lack lustre and I'm thinking maybe something with a big of red in it for Fall. Oh Fall, I'm dreaming of it.

Brody

If I had the balls, I would cut my hair just like this and be a hot rocker chick.  If you don't know Brody Dalle she is from the now defunct band The Distillers.  It's awesome angry chick music but with some real musical chops if you're getting sick of your Kelly Clarkson and need something a little harder(come on pissed off girl, you know you're secretly listening to Since You Been Gone).  
She's in a new band which I haven't had a chance to listen to yet but they are called Spinnerette and I'm willing to bet are worth checking out.  I happen to think she is one of the hottest tough chicks out there and I am desperately envious of her messy, black locks.
The girl has it all going, big gorgeous lips, a hot hair style and a kick ass band.

French Girls Have Great Hair

Meet Les Plastiscines. They are a French all girl rock band whose songs are catchy and whose hair is utterly enviable. If you read Nylon you've probably heard of them since they are signed to Nylon's label. I happen to think they are quite charming.
Plus, look at that hair! It's classically french, big, sexy and with heavy bangs.
They also rely heavily on simple black eye liner and lots of mascara. Is there anything sexier than cute french girls with great hair singing rock music?

Snip Its

It is becoming apparent that I need a haircut.  My last one didn't go so well and as a result I have been trimming my own bangs rather poorly.  I have various inspirations, all obviously with bangs, but now I'm just terrified to get it cut!  But I have decided to share my inspiration with you.  Obviously the marvelous Zooey is at the top of the list.  Her hair is a bit longer than mine but it's so chic and adorable!
Kate is obviously an inspiration in most parts of life, minus the coke habit.  Her simple layered cut with bangs is glorious and the right amount of chic and rock and roll.
I found this by googling bangs and I think its lovely.  Yeh, the bangs are a bit in the eyes but its that same layering and bangs that I like.
Finally there's this, sadly you can't see much of the cut but it looks fun and heavy on layers.  Then again sometimes I just want to give it up and chop it all off like this...Though, this girl has fabulous hair as well.  How come my bangs never look that good?  What are your thoughts?

Hair Envy

Please tell me this isn't real. The cut, the color, the length, they are all making me absolutely green with envy. I've been trying in vain to grow out my hair for a year now. Sadly, I must satisfy myself by looking at other people luxurious locks. Le sigh.

Flowers In Your Hair

So apparently an intern at Glamour didn't have time to do her curly hair so she whipped up this little do with no mirror in a couple of minutes.  Or so the interweb has told me.  I'm refusing to believe it because I could never achieve such a thing.  But doesn't it look just lovely?  And how nice to have all the hair off your face and neck for summer?  Maybe if you had a braiding inclined roommate(or identical twin sister Asian Cajuns) you could replicate this look.  Go on, I dare you, and send me pics so I can be jealous, I mean impressed.
