Woohoo Getting Out My Bike

Oh gosh, it's finally getting warm and that means I'll be hauling my pretty little bike out of the basement and dusting her off at last! I believe she'll need a few touch ups, some air in the tires, a few touch ups on her paint, but I can't wait to go sailing down the hill I live on with her!

Hurray!

Bike Chic: Penny Loafers

How sweet is this? I love the super short, crisp little skirt with the classic penny loafers. Sure, I'm not sure I could pull off biking in a skirt quite that short, but it looks sweet from this angle. Do you wear skirts on bikes? If so how do you keep you ahem, dignity intact?

Bike Chic: Simply. Lovely.

This girl is the picture of simple elegance.  I love the simple rolled shorts, matching rolled t shirt and the scarf and cross body bag.  Add to that her lovely, chic hair and I'm swooning.  Also, I'm guessing that's a pretty sweet bike she's riding.  If only I looked this classy on my bike!

Bike Chic: Darling

How darling is this look?  I love the paper bag skirt with the sweet rumpled over the knee socks.  Plus, you guys know how I love plaid!  I'm still so jealous of girls who pull off this sock look, my roommate is one of them, I still feel like a silly teenager in them.  Anyone got any tips for me?

Bike Chic: Heels?

Ok, this looks glorious.  I could never ride like this mind you.  But a) her bike is gorgeous, b) so is her outfit!  Her hair is pretty freaking awesome too.  But here's my question, do you, or can you bike in heels?  I don't seem to be that coordinated.  However, when someone pulls it off, they look fierce, yeh, I said fierce.

Mixing Prints

I love mixed prints!  Mind you, I almost never have the courage to do it myself.  But when people pull it off it looks so nonchalant and  classy.  This girl on the bike is too cute with her perfect striped sailor T and floral shorts.  And I don't care if the fedora is a passe trend I still think it's cute.  Below is my little interpretation on mixed prints.  I love how it comes off as very feminine and rather French.  What are your thoughts?  Do you mix prints? Yay or ney?

Bike Chic: Country Florals

I'm in love with these pretty country florals and the boater hat for biking.  I can just imagine riding down dusty country roads.

Bike Chic: Be A Lady

If you were hanging out on Boston's Tremont St. last night you would have seen me and my lovely gentleman friend doing just this.  I love that it's a bit silly, a bit dangerous, gets you funny looks and is totally fun.  You also get to practice your lady like ankle twist.  Now if only I could be riding through a pretty piazza like the one in the picture!

Bike Chic

This has to be my all time favorite bike pic.  I love the red dress and the red bike, it's classic but also playful and fresh.  Just darling.  Also, I love the wicker basket, I wish I had one on my bike.

Bike Chic

Bringing out my bike is one of my favorite parts of Spring.  I'm endlessly intrigued by bike fashion as well.  I'm always impressed with women who can wear heels while riding a bike, I sadly am not one of them, but I none the less respect their dedication.  This is one of my favorite bike shots.  I think the red dress is lovely and it looks so sunny and warm out.  My new favorite part though?  I never noticed before that there is someone balancing on the end of the bike!  During the summer I balance on the back of my boyfriends bike all the time, apparently it is common practice in places like Amsterdam.  It's definitely unnerving, but also very fun.
