I love summer. It is inherently care free and whimsical. Impromptu beach trips are the norm, tiny dresses are more than except-able, and drinks like mojitos and lemonade abound. Swimming is my other favorite part of summer. When I was a kid we had a town pool that my sister and I would walk to. All our friends would hang out there, the boys we liked, the ones who liked us. I have very fond memories of that pool. Also, when I was 18 I moved to the beach in North Carolina, it was my beach. Last year I took my man there and we have an amazing time, nothing beats the beach. What's your favorite summer memory?
i'd have to say my favorite is fourth of july parties. out here in chicago (where i live now) independence day is just another three day weekend. no one really makes a fuss over it. back in boston though, its a huge celebration that stretches on for more than one weekend. we always went into the city for the parades and the reading of the declaration and then headed to connecticut (where i grew up) to swim, sail, bbq, watch fireworks, and gorge ourselves on s'mores.
